Joliet, Ill. - Saint Xavier University freshman Megan Nonnemacher (Bloomington, Ill./Normal Community) was named the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) Pitcher of the Week when the conference office released the weekly honor Wednesday. Nonnemacher went 3-0 on the week with a pair of shutouts to help the Cougars claim a share of the CCAC regular season championship. It was the second time this season that she has claimed the award after earning the honor back on March 26.

Nonnemacher started the week with a key conference win over Purdue University-North Central (Ind.) by a score of 5-2 and threw the entire game with seven strikeouts and just one earned run allowed. She then followed that outing with a five-inning shutout (8-0) of Calumet College of St. Joseph (Ind.) striking out six batters and only allowing one hit. Nonnemacher finished out the week with a two-hit shutout over Grand View University (Iowa) to give SXU a 1-0 victory finishing with 10 strikeouts. On the week, she had a 0.37 earned run average (ERA) and 23 strikeouts, while only walking four batters.

Saint Xavier (30-12 overall/14-4 CCAC) currently owns the No. 17 spot on the latest NAIA Softball Coaches' Top 25 Poll released by the national office on Tuesday, April 26. The Cougars hope to continue their regular season slate (weather permitting) on Saturday, April 30, with a road doubleheader against non-conference NAIA foe Bethel College (Ind.) starting at 12 p.m. (central).
