CHICAGO - Carly Campioni, a senior defensive specialist/setter from Crystal Lake South High School in Crystal Lake, Ill., has signed a letter of intent to continue both her athletic and academic career at Saint Xavier University as a member of the Cougar volleyball program. She was coached by Laura Jensen during her prep career for the Gators of Crystal Lake.
Campioni is the daughter of Mike and Deanna Campioni of Crystal Lake. She will play primarily at the setter position next season for the Cougars. Campioni is looking to pursue a degree in graphic design next year at Saint Xavier University.
"Carly will fill an important role on the team next season as our second setter," said Saint Xavier University volleyball coach Bob Heersema. "She is a quality athlete, who will back up senior Traci Looby (current SXU setter) and help us have different options and looks in practices."
