CHICAGO - Tom Lojek, a senior forward/midfielder from Palos Hills, Ill., recently signed a letter of intent to continue both his athletic and academic career at Saint Xavier University as a member of the Cougar men's soccer program. Lojek was coached by Mike Kealy at Stagg High School in Palos Hills. He will join the SXU roster in the fall of 2011.

Lojek is the son of Jake and Dorota Lojek of Palos Hills. He plans to pursue a degree in accounting starting next fall at Saint Xavier University. SXU men's soccer coach Ed Vucinic believes that Lojek has the experience and drive to make a smooth transition to the collegiate game.

"I'm excited about Tom's decision to join our program," said Vucinic."His success at Stagg coupled with his club experience at Inter FC provides a high-level, competitive base of soccer that will serve him well at Saint Xavier. He has his work cut out for him trying to break into the very talented front line and midfield we have returning this fall, but his quickness, speed and work ethic will put him in a position to take advantage of any opportunity that comes his way. Tom has a big upside and I'm looking forward to his time in a Cougar uniform."
