CHICAGO - Sophomore outside hitter Aaron Porter (Woodridge, Ill./Downers Grove South) led the way with 14 kills and seven digs as the Saint Xavier University men's volleyball team avenged an earlier week loss with a victory over Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE) in three sets Thursday night at the Shannon Center in Chicago. The Cougars (6-13 overall) fell to the Raiders Tuesday night in five sets in Milwaukee, but it was a different outcome on their home court taking the match in just three sets by scores of 25-17, 25-13 and 25-13. SXU was consistent with its attacks throughout the match committing just eight attack errors and hitting at an impressive .413 attack percentage as a team.

Freshman setter Kevin Maxwell (Chicago, Ill./Brother Rice) finished with 29 set assists for Saint Xavier, while sophomore outside hitter Joe Zahalka (Downers Grove, Ill./Downers Grove South) had a nice night as well with eight kills and six digs. Freshman middle blocker John O'Connell (Evergreen Park, Ill./Brother Rice) led the way defensively for the Cougars with four block assists.

Saint Xavier (6-13 overall/5-5 MAMVIC) continues its Mid-America Men's Volleyball Intercollegiate Conference (MAMVIC) slate on Wednesday, March 23, hosting Robert Morris University (Ill.). The home match is scheduled for a 7 p.m. start.
