Milwaukee, Wis. - Sophomore outside hitter Aaron Porter (Woodridge, Ill./Downers Grove South) and freshman middle blocker Mike Capone (Lyons, Ill./Morton CC/Morton) each finished with nine kills, but Saint Xavier University could not pick up the victory against Cardinal Stritch University (Wis.) in Mid-America Men's Volleyball Intercollegiate Conference (MAMVIC) action Wednesday evening at Panella Court in Milwaukee, Wis. The Cougars (5-12 overall/5-5 MAMVIC) dropped the match in three sets by scores of 23-25, 22-25 and 23-25. Porter also recorded a team-best tying five digs in Wednesday's match.

Freshman setter Kevin Maxwell (Chicago, Ill./Brother Rice) posted 29 set assists for SXU, while sophomore right side hitter Evan Muys (Orland Park, Ill./Sandburg) tallied five kills and three block assists. Sophomore outside hitter Joe Zahalka (Downers Grove, Ill./Downers Grove South) was also solid for the Cougars totaling four kills and five digs on the night.

Saint Xavier (5-12 overall/5-5 MAMVIC) takes the weekend off and returns to action on Tuesday, March 15, with a conference match against Milwaukee School of Engineering (Wis.). The road match is scheduled for a 7 p.m. start in Milwaukee.
