Ed McAllister was pleased with the pair of performances.
"I am very pleased with the overall performances of both of these young men," said McAllister. "You always hope for the best at Nationals, but it always is a great unknown. Both Matt and Brandon were in tough heats and both ran solidly today and throughout the indoor season. I believe the futures for both of these young men are bright. From here, we go back to work and prepare for our outdoor season."
The Cougars will have a short preparation period from here to outdoor season, which begins with the Troll Invite at Trinity Christian College in Palos Heights, Ill., on March 28. The meet is scheduled for a 4 p.m. start.
