Joliet, Ill. - Saint Xavier University freshman guard Brad Karp (Valparaiso, Ind./Valaparaiso) was the team's lone first-team recipient and also earned the league's Freshman of the Year award when the 2010-11 All-Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) Division I Men's Basketball Team and awards were announced Saturday evening in conjunction with the CCAC Men's Basketball Tournament Championship. In addition, senior guard DeVon Chandler (Collinsville, Ill./Collinsville), sophomore point guard Roosevelt Green (Markham, Ill./Tinley Park) and freshman forward Mark Peters (Aurora, Ill./Marmion Academy) all earned second team recognition on the all-conference squad.

Karp ranked in the top 10 in the CCAC in six different statistical categories in his debut season, including scoring average (19.2 points a game), rebounding (6.7 rpg), free throw percentage (.832) and field goal percentage (.547). Chandler averaged 6.8 points and 2.4 assists a game for the Cougars and shot an impressive 53 percent (80-for-150) from the field on the season. Green posted 10.3 points per game for SXU and led the team with 141 assists (4.9 apg). Peters also had a solid debut season for the Cougars averaging 9.4 points and 4.1 rebounds per game, while shooting a team-high 61 percent from the floor (115-for-190). In addition, junior guard Nick Hastings (Joliet, Ill./Joliet Catholic) represented Saint Xavier University on the 2010-11 CCAC All-Academic Team. To qualify, a player must be at least a sophomore and have maintained a 3.25 cumulative grade-point average or above.

Saint Xavier ended its season with a 19-13 overall record and finished fourth in the final CCAC regular season standings with a 3-7 mark. The Cougars lost in the semifinals of the CCAC Tournament to No. 1 ranked Robert Morris University (Ill.) by a score of 104-94 this past Thursday.
