CHICAGO - Sophomore outside hitter Joe Zahalka (Downers Grove, Ill./Downers Grove South) led the offensive attack with 13 kills to help lead the Saint Xavier University men's volleyball team to a Mid-America Men's Volleyball Intercollegiate Conference (MAMVIC) victory against the Siena Heights University (Mich.) Monday night at the SHU Fieldhouse in Adrian, Mich. The match lasted five sets (14-25, 25-18, 12-25, 25-23, and 15-13) with sophomore outside hitter Aaron Porter (Woodridge, Ill./Downers Grove South) also playing well for SXU finishing with 11 kills and eight digs.

Freshman libero Johnathan Hernandez (Berwyn, Ill./Morton CC/Morton) was tough defensively for the Cougars posting 13 digs as well. Freshmen setter Kevin Maxwell (Chicago, Ill./Brother Rice) was also a force both offensively and defensively posting 40 assists and 11 digs.

Saint Xavier (4-8 overall/4-1 MAMVIC) will play again tonight for another MAMVIC match against Cardinal Stritch University (Wis.). The match is scheduled for a 7 p.m. start at the Shannon Center in Chicago.
