CHICAGO - Marissa and Morgan Graves, twin sisters from Joliet, Ill., recently signed letters of intent to continue both their athletic and academic careers at Saint Xavier University as members of the Cougar women's soccer program. The pair played at Joliet Central High School in Joliet, Ill., and will join the SXU roster in the fall of 2011. Marissa is projected to join the Cougars as either a forward or an attacking midfielder, while Morgan will likely play at either central midfield or center back.

The twins are the daughters of Melvin and Gloria Graves of Joliet. Marissa plans to study nursing and Morgan will pursue a degree in pre-physical therapy starting next fall at Saint Xavier University. SXU women's soccer coach Jeremy Ekeler is thrilled about signing the talented sisters.

"Marissa is one of the most dangerous offensive players we have ever recruited," said Ekeler."Beyond her incredible speed, she has a desire to get to the goal every time she touches the ball. She is a multiple all-conference, all-sectional and all-area player and still has another year ahead of her. Marissa is also an honor student and I think she has a real chance to contribute to our attack immediately.

"Morgan is also a winner of multiple all-conference, all-sectional and all-area awards as well as an honor student," said Ekeler. "She is the best blend of speed and physical play we have recruited and every time I have seen her play she was working at a level well above her opponents. I also like the fact that Morgan does the little things it takes to win soccer games. She will have an immediate impact for us either defending or in the central midfield."
