Senior Danielle Malloy was one of 17 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes from SXU

Kansas City, Mo. - Saint Xavier University Athletics recently learned that 18 student-athletes from the department's six fall teams were named Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes when the national office released the names earlier this month. In order to be nominated by an institution, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved a junior academic status to qualify for this honor. Below is the list of Cougars, alphabetically and separated by sport, who received the recognition for the 2010 fall season:

Football (4): junior Patrick Appino (Rockford, Ill./Boylan Catholic), junior Michael Prosser (Rockton, Ill./Rockton-Hononegah), senior Drew Rogowski (Griffith, Ind./Griffith) and junior Ryan Searls (Joliet, Ill./Joliet Catholic)

Volleyball (3): junior Ashley August (LaGrange Park, Ill./Lyons Township), senior Danielle Malloy (Tinley Park, Ill./Tinley Park) and junior Erin Sebo (Downers Grove, Ill./St. Scholastica/Downers Grove North)

Men's Soccer (1): senior Ben Johnson (Woodridge, Ill./Western Illinois University/Naperville North)
