Vancouver, Wash. - Freshman Brian Corcoran (Chicago, Ill./Brother Rice) closed out the men's cross country season for Saint Xavier University by competing admirably at the 2010 NAIA Cross Country Championships in Vancouver, Wash., on Saturday, November 20. Corcoran finished the 8K course (8,000 meters) in a time of 26:41, which placed him 113th overall out of a field of 326 of the NAIA's top runners.

"It was a great season," said SXU men's cross country coach Ed McAllister. "Brian ran a tough race over a rain-soaked course. He has done everything that I could have hoped. He is a freshman and obviously is returning as are the rest of our top five. Brian personified the guttiness of our team and represented himself, the team and the University proudly."

The Cougars get a very short time break before resuming with the indoor track season. They will compete on Friday, December 10, at the Eastern Illinois University Earlybird Meet in Charleston, Ill.
