Joliet, Ill. - Saint Xavier University freshman guard Brad Karp (Valparaiso, Ind./Valparaiso) was named the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) Men's Basketball Division I Player of the Week last week after his stellar outings in games, all wins, against Trinity International University (Ill.), Harris-Stowe State University (Mo.) and East-West University (Ill.). Karp averaged 21.0 points, 8.7 rebounds and 1.7 assists over the three-game stretch and shot an impressive 58 percent (23-for-40) from the field. It was the first time in his young collegiate career that he has earned the weekly conference honor.

In SXU's first game of the week against Trinity International, Karp finished with a double-double performance of 16 points and 12 rebounds as the Cougars posted a 85-75 victory. In the Saint Xavier University Classic over the weekend, Karp established a new career-high scoring mark with 34 points as the Cougars cruised to an 88-74 win over Harris-Stowe State University. SXU closed out the two-day tourney with a big 127-69 win over East-West on Saturday with Karp posting 13 points and eight rebounds in just 20 minutes of action.

Saint Xavier (8-1 overall) heads downtown on Saturday, December 4, to open its conference slate against new CCAC member Roosevelt University (Ill.). The game will be played on the campus of Illinois
