CHICAGO - Megan James, a senior catcher at Marist High School in Chicago, has signed a letter of intent to continue both her athletic and academic career at Saint Xavier University as a member of the Cougar softball program. The Oak Forest, Ill., native will be a freshman at SXU in the fall of 2011. She will compete for playing time behind the plate and also in the middle of the infield for the Cougars during the 2012 season.

James is the daughter of Greg and Kim James of Oak Forest. She is currently coached by Denise Bromberek at Marist High School. James is looking to pursue a degree in biology starting next year at Saint Xavier University.

"Megan is a fierce competitor, who will make her presence felt on the field right away," said Saint Xavier University softball coach Myra Minuskin."She will catch and play middle infield for us and will definitely strengthen our program."
