Joliet, Ill. -Helping Saint Xavier University defeat Trinity International University (Ill.) and secure the No. 4 seed in this week's CCAC Tournament, sophomore outside hitter Kelly Knudsen (Oak Lawn, Ill./Oak Lawn Community) claimed the final Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) Volleyball Player of the Week award of the season Tuesday afternoon. Knudsen was instrumental in the thrilling, five-set win over the Trojans last Tuesday finishing with a team-best 25 kills to go along with 15 digs and three block assists. With the victory, SXU ended its regular season with a 20-13 overall record and a 7-4 mark in the CCAC standings.

Knudsen currently ranks fourth in the conference in kills with 373. She leads the team with 44 service aces and total points (440.5). Last season, Knudsen earned a spot on the All-CCAC Second Team for her impressive play as a freshman.

Saint Xavier (20-13 overall/7-4 CCAC) takes the No. 4 seed into tonight's CCAC Tournament match against No. 5 seed Robert Morris University (Ill.). The match is scheduled for a 7 p.m. start at the Shannon Center in Chicago.
