CHICAGO - Just a day
after clinching its second consecutive Mid-States Football Association (MSFA)
Mideast League title and perfect regular season (11-0), the No. 3 ranked Saint
Xavier University football team celebrated by taking in a Chicago Blackhawks
game Sunday night at the United Center.
With the Cougars on a bye week and its next opponent for the first round
of the NAIA Football Championship Series still a question mark, head coach Mike
Feminis felt that Sunday was the perfect opportunity to give his team a little
rest and relaxation. At least 50 players
as well as coaches and support staff made the trip downtown to watch the
Blackhawks take on the Edmonton Oilers.

"Our guys know what a huge Blackhawks fan I am and
I've always wanted to have them experience the great atmosphere of a game at
the United Center," said Feminis. "When
the Hawks posted their 2010-11 schedule, I thought November 7 would be the
perfect date to take them if our season worked out the way I was hoping it
would. Beating our arch-rival Saint
Francis (Ind.) at home to go undefeated for the second year in a row is a dream
come true and then taking our guys to see the Hawks the next day was the icing
on the cake."

Unfortunately, the Cougars could not bring some of
their winning momentum into the United Center as the Blackhawks dropped a 2-1
decision to the visiting Oilers.
However, the team got a well-deserved break from the normal grind of a
college football season and got some great photo opportunities in the process,
including a shot with the Ice Crew prior to the game.
Saint Xavier (11-0 overall/7-0 MSFA) has a full week
to take in its impressive regular season before preparations start for the
postseason. The Cougars await their seed
and pairing for the upcoming 2010 NAIA Championship Series, which begins on
Saturday, November 20. The pairings are
scheduled to be released by the NAIA on Sunday, November 14, at 2 p.m. central
