CHICAGO - Dana Eppley, a senior cross country and distance runner at Shepard High School in Palos Heights, Ill., has signed a letter of intent to continue both her athletic and academic career at Saint Xavier University as a member of the Cougar women's cross country and track programs. The Palos Heights native possesses the abilities and work ethic necessary to be both a leader and impact runner on next season's SXU cross country and indoor/outdoor track teams.
Eppley is the daughter of Rodger and DeEtte Eppley of Palos Heights. She plans to pursue a degree in speech pathology next year at Saint Xavier. Eppley was coached by Verline Gaddis with the Astros' girl's track team and Paul DeYoung with the Astros girl's cross country team.
"I'm thrilled that Dana has decided to come to SXU and run," said Saint Xavier University women's cross country/track coach Lisa Ebel. "She is one of the best distance runners in the area and will be a huge asset to our program."
