Bourbonnais, Ill. - A goal by Olivet Nazarene University senior midfielder Chris Mast just 35 seconds into regulation proved to be a costly one as No. 18 ranked Saint Xavier University fell 2-1 Saturday night in Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) men's soccer action at Tiger Field in Bourbonnais, Ill. The Tigers would take a 2-0 lead early in the second half before the Cougars cut into the lead with a goal by junior forward Matt Klancic (Aurora, Ill./Bowling Green State University/Waubonsie Valley) in the 60th minute.

The Mast goal came from 20 yards out and was set up off an assist by senior defender Jakub Gerlach. In the 46th minute of play, ONU went ahead by two scores when senior forward Billy Jackson sent a header to the back of the net off another Gerlach pass. Junior midfielder Al Palar (Zabrze, Poland/Plainfield Central) recorded the assist for the Cougars on the Klancic goal. Freshman keeper Kyle Held (Palatine, Ill./Palatine) posted three saves on the night for SXU. Klancic, Palar and junior midfielder Adrian Guzman (Chicago, Ill./De La Salle) each finished with two shots-on-goal for the Cougars.
