MILWAUKEE - Behind 16 kills and 10 digs from sophomore outside hitter Kayla Mullaney (Elmhurst, Ill./York Community), the Saint Xavier University women's volleyball team improved its Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) mark with a road win over Cardinal Stritch University (Wis.) at the CSU Field House in Milwaukee. The Cougars (17-8 overall/6-3 CCAC) decided the match in three sets by scores of 25-23, 25-23 and 25-23. Junior middle blocker Kim Scudder (Elmhurst, Ill./York Community) also played well for SXU Tuesday posting 12 kills and two service aces.

Sophomore libero Christine Bowe (Downers Grove, Ill./Downers Grove South) and junior defensive specialist Erin Sebo (Downers Grove, Ill./St. Scholastica/Downers Grove North) each finished with 10 digs to help lead the defensive effort for the Cougars. Junior setter Ashley August (LaGrange Park, Ill./Lyons Township) posted 44 assists to go along with her five digs on the night. Sophomore outside hitter Kelly Knudsen (Oak Lawn, Ill./Oak Lawn Community) was solid contributor for the Cougars recording 12 kills and eight digs.

Saint Xavier (17-8 overall/6-3 CCAC) takes a break from its conference slate to take on NCAA Division II Lewis University (Ill.) on Thursday, October 21. The road match is scheduled for a 7 p.m. start in Romeoville, Ill.
