CHICAGO - Picking up its first Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) loss of the season, the Saint Xavier University women's soccer team was limited to just three total shots and fell to No. 11 ranked Robert Morris University (Ill.), 3-0, Tuesday evening at Bruce R. Deaton Memorial Field in Chicago. The Eagles were aggressive offensively throughout the game recording 25 shots, including 11 on goal. With the loss, the Cougars fall to 10-5-0 overall and 6-1-0 in the CCAC. RMU improves its season record to 13-1-1 and 6-0-1 in the conference standings.

The first score came in the 22nd minute when junior forward Monica Barrera took a shot from 10 yards out on an unassisted play. Five minutes later, Robert Morris freshman midfielder Samira Suleman found a hole in the Cougar defense and put the Eagles ahead, 2-0, on a shot in front of the net. SXU trailed 2-0 at the half and the score stayed the same until the final minute of regulation when RMU added a third goal off the foot of junior midfielder Natasha Carlton set up by a cross from junior midfielder Amanda Kostic. The Cougars got a nice outing in goal by senior keeper Ashley Shugar (Lake Orion, Mich./Western Illinois University/Lake Orion). Shugar finished with eight saves on the night. Senior forward Kelly Steinhaus (Lemont, Ill./Lemont) and junior midfielder Nancy Schueth (Lincoln, Neb./Saint Pius X) each tallied a shot-on-goal for SXU.
