CHICAGO - Alex Bahner, a senior catcher at Rochester Adams High School in Rochester Hills, Mich., has signed a letter of intent to continue both her athletic and academic career at Saint Xavier University as a member of the Cougar softball program. The Rochester Hills native will be a freshman at SXU in the fall of 2011 and will compete for playing time behind the plate during the 2012 season.

Bahner is the daughter of Pete and Donna Bahner of Rochester Hills. She is currently coached by Fran Scislowicz, who has been the coach at Rochester Adams for the past 23 seasons. Bahner is looking to pursue a double major in business administration and Spanish starting next year at Saint Xavier University.

"Alex is a skilled catcher as well as a strong hitter," said Saint Xavier University softball coach Myra Minuskin.  "She will make an immediate impact on our program and we are excited to have her."
