CHICAGO - Junior midfielders Nancy Schueth (Lincoln, Neb./Saint Pius X) and Joanna Janulis (Bolingbrook, Ill./Benet Academy) as well as freshman defender Molly Sheehan (Orland Park, Ill./Stagg) scored two goals apiece as Saint Xavier University picked up an 8-0 victory over Calumet College of St. Joseph (Ind.) in Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) women's soccer action Wednesday afternoon at Bruce R. Deaton Memorial Field in Chicago. Schueth also finished the game with two assists, while senior midfielder Carey Brown (Des Plaines, Ill./Maine West) added a goal and an assist toward the winning effort. With the win, the Cougars improve to 6-4 on the season and stay perfect in the conference standings at 2-0.

Schueth scored the game's first goal in the fourth minute off an assist from senior forward Kelly Steinhaus (Lemont, Ill./Lemont). In the 20th minute, sophomore forward Elysha Peele (Tinley Park, Ill./Andrew) would find the back of the net from 15 yards out off a pass from Schueth. Schueth would score again off a cross from senior defender Nikki Gendron (Rockford, Ill./Boylan Catholic) just over seven minutes later. Brown and Sheehan would both tally goals over the game's next 12 minutes to send SXU into the half with a 5-0 lead.

In the 60th minute, Janulis would notch her first goal of the game and follow that with another just five minutes later. Sheehan would wrap up the scoring surge in the 81st minute with a goal off a breakaway set up by junior midfielder Lauren LaRoy (Orland Park, Ill./Marist). Junior Sarah Schrader (Metamora, Ill./Illinois Central College/Metamora) and freshman Anita Balciunas (Brookfield, Ill./Riverside-Brookfield) split time in goal Wednesday each playing a half and combining for three saves.

Saint Xavier (6-4-0 overall/2-0 CCAC) continues its home stand hosting CCAC foe Judson University (Ill.) on Friday, October 1. The game is scheduled for a 6 p.m. start at Bruce R. Deaton Memorial Field.
