CHICAGO - Sophomore outside hitter Kelly Knudsen (Oak Lawn, Ill./Oak Lawn Community) posted match-bests of 16 kills and three service aces to lead Saint Xavier University to a home victory over visiting Judson University (Ill.) in Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) volleyball action Tuesday night at the Shannon Center in Chicago. The Cougars (13-5 overall) warmed up offensively as the match progressed finishing things up in three sets by scores of 25-21, 25-15 and 25-11. SXU had an attack percentage of .375 (13 kills and four errors) in the final set of the night.

Fellow sophomore outside hitter Kayla Mullaney (Elmhurst, Ill./York Community) also played well for the Cougars Tuesday recording 11 kills and 11 digs. Junior setter Ashley August (LaGrange Park, Ill./Lyons Township) finished the night with 38 assists, while junior defensive specialist Erin Sebo (Downers Grove, Ill./St. Scholastica/Downers Grove North) tacked on a team-best 14 digs. Junior middle blocker Kim Scudder (Elmhurst, Ill./York Community) had five total blocks (one solo, four assists) and three aces as well for SXU.

Saint Xavier (13-5 overall/4-1 CCAC) faces a tough conference test on the road Friday heading to Joliet, Ill., to take on rival University of St. Francis (Ill.). The match is scheduled for a 7 p.m. start.
