CHICAGO - For the second straight
week, Saint Xavier University freshman keeper Kyle Held (Palatine,
Ill./Palatine) was named the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC)
Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week when the honor was released by the
conference office late Tuesday. Held logged
his second collegiate shutout behind eight saves in SXU's only game on the
week, a 2-0 road win over non-conference foe Goshen College (Ind.).
The Cougars are
off to a good start sitting at 3-2 overall this season with their only two
losses each coming by just a goal, a 1-0 loss to then-No. 1 ranked Lindsey
Wilson College (Ky.) and a 3-2 setback to Grand View University (Iowa). Held leads the team with 26 saves and two
shutouts over five games and holds a 0.82 goals-against average (GAA).
Xavier (3-2-0 overall) opens its CCAC slate on Friday, September 17, with a
road game against rival University of St. Francis (Ill.). The game is scheduled for a 7 p.m. start in
