CHICAGO - Cassie Pullia, a senior central midfielder from Homer Glen, Ill., recently signed a letter of intent to continue both her athletic and academic career at Saint Xavier University as a member of the Cougar women's soccer program. Pullia is currently coached by Todd Elkei at Lockport Township High School in Lockport, Ill. She was also coached as a club player and trained by Sena Halilovic. Pullia will join the SXU roster in the fall of 2011.

Pullia is the daughter of Nick and Chris Pullia of Homer Glen. She plans to study pre-veterinary medicine starting next fall at Saint Xavier University. SXU women's soccer coach Jeremy Ekeler likes not only what Pullia will bring to the playing field, but to the classroom as well next season.

"Cassie's addition truly gives us a student-athlete in every sense of the name," said Ekeler."She is a strong and college-ready player, but also a tremendous young woman in the classroom. Our team was looking to add depth and strength to the center of our midfield, so her signing fits that mold perfectly. She is a dominant presence on the field and her impact will be felt immediately."
