CHICAGO - Sophomore forward Angie Holmes (Shorewood, Ill./Providence Catholic) helped pace the Saint Xavier University women's soccer team with two goals and an assist en route to a 7-0 Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) win over Calumet College of St. Joseph (Ind.) Tuesday at SXU stadium. With the win, the Cougars wrap up their 2004 regular season schedule and prepare for the postseason with a 12-5-1 overall record and a 5-3-1 conference mark.

In addition to Holmes, a host of other SXU players had impressive individual performances in the Tuesday's game. Freshman forward Lissa Coby (Lake Villa, Ill./Grant Community) also finished with two goals and an assist, while junior midfielder and co-captain Jen Belmonte (Darien, Ill./Hinsdale South) tacked on a goal and an assist. Freshman forward Alex Sudar (Omaha, Neb./Byran) recorded two assists (both on corner kicks) and a goal on the day, while sophomore defender Kate Bingham (Lincoln, Neb./Pius X Catholic) tallied a goal and senior defender Debbie Lawrence (Adrian, Mich./Adrian) had an assist.

SXU outshot Calumet College of St. Joseph, 15-5, in the game and recorded five goals in the second half. Sophomore goalkeeper Jessi Brink (Omaha, Neb./Burke) finished with five saves for SXU to secure the shutout victory, her third of the season.

Saint Xavier will now face Trinity Christian College (Ill.) in the quarterfinal game of the CCAC Postseason Tournament on Saturday, October 23. Game time is set for 11 a.m. at SXU stadium.
