CHICAGO - The uncharacteristically cold start to April has caused a series of postponements and cancellations to the upcoming Saint Xavier University softball schedule. Thursday's Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) doubleheader against Trinity International University originally scheduled for 3 p.m. in Deerfield, Ill., has been postponed to Wednesday, April 25, at the same time and place. The postponed pair of games will replace the previously scheduled non-conference road doubleheader against University of Wisconsin-Parkside (Wis.) originally slated for April 25.

In addition, Saint Xavier will also lose the five games scheduled for this weekend as part of the annual University of St. Francis (Ill.) Softball Tournament in Joliet, Ill. The tournament has been cancelled due to the cold weather and will not be rescheduled. In total, the Cougars will lose seven games off their schedule due to this series of postponements and cancellations.

SXU (11-7 overall/5-1 CCAC) hopes to continue its season next week with a conference doubleheader against University of St. Francis (Ill.) on Tuesday, April 10. The twinbill is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. in Joliet.
