CHICAGO - Kyle Held, a senior goalkeeper from Palatine, Ill., recently signed a letter of intent to continue both his athletic and academic career at Saint Xavier University as a member of the Cougar men's soccer program. Held is currently coached by Willie Filian at Palatine High School in Palatine, Ill. He will begin his college career as a freshman in the fall of 2010.

Held is the son of Frank and Kim Held of Palatine. He plans to pursue a degree in accounting starting next fall at Saint Xavier University. SXU men's soccer coach Ed Vucinic is thrilled about the chance to strengthen his 2010 roster, especially at the goalkeeper position.

"I'm extremely excited about Kyle's decision to join our program," said Vucinic. "At 6-6, he gives us a commanding presence in the box and moves very well for his size. Kyle has a great chance to establish himself as a key player for us very quickly."
