CHICAGO - Saint Xavier University football coach Mike Feminis has gained two more players for his 2007 roster with the additions of Dane Thayer and Sean Bryce. Thayer is a junior long snapper, who spent two seasons at Joliet Junior College in Joliet, Ill., before transferring to SXU. Bryce, a running back, will be a freshman next fall and enjoyed a successful prep football career at Oak Forest High School in Oak Forest, Ill.

Thayer played prep football at Joliet Catholic Academy in Joliet, Ill., under coach Dan Sharp before attending Joliet Junior College. He is the son of Rick Thayer of Joliet, Ill. His uncle, Tom, was a starting offensive lineman for the 1985 Super Bowl Champion Chicago Bears.

"Dane is a tremendous long snapper," said Saint Xavier University football coach Mike Feminis. "His uncle (Tom) taught him how to snap when he was a little kid and now he has a great passion for it. With Dane and Brian Casson (Plainfield South) coming aboard, we are all set at that position for a long time."

Bryce is a 5-11, 190-pound running back from Oak Forest, who played under coach Brian McDonough at Oak Forest High School. He is the son of Chris and Beth Bryce of Oak Forest and was an all-conference selection as well as an all-area selection (Star Publications and Daily Southtown) during his prep career.

"Sean is going to be a good player for us down the road," said Feminis. "He is a strong, physical running back, who reminds me a little bit of Donnie Selby (current SXU running back). Depending on how things work out, I can also see Sean possibly being an outside linebacker/strong safety type."
