Women's Track & Field - Wed, Apr. 14, 2010
CHICAGO - The Saint Xavier University women's outdoor track and field team earned its second qualifier for the 2010 NAIA Outdoor Track and Field National Championships with senior Amy Poull's (Oak Forest, Ill./Oak Forest) performance last weekend at the Chicagoland Championships hosted by the University of Chicago on Saturday, April 10. Poull's time of 18:03.87 in the 5K run (5,000 meters) surpassed the NAIA's ¬ĎA' standard qualification, which guarantees her an opportunity to run at the national meet held in Marion, Ind., on May 27-29.

"Amy is a coach's dream, because every season that she runs she improves dramatically," said SXU women's track and field coach Lisa Ebel. "The last time Amy raced was at the NAIA Indoor Track and Field Championships in early March and she set a school record in the 5K at that meet. Then, she comes out in her first meet of the outdoor season and sets the school record for the outdoor 5K, beating her old personal-best time by 21 seconds."

The Saint Xavier women's track and field team competed at the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) Championships meet over this past weekend. The meet was hosted by Olivet Nazarene University in Bourbonnais, Ill., on Saturday, April 17.
