Joliet, Ill. - Highlighted by senior guards Julian Scott (Country Club Hills, Ill./Hillcrest) and Larry Pikes (Richton Park, Ill./Alaska-Anchorage/Blackhawk East/Rich South), the Saint Xavier University men's basketball team landed seven of its players on the 2010 All-Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) Team when the honors were announced in conjunction with Saturday's CCAC Tournament Championship. Sophomore forward Phil Riggs (Rockford, Ill./Boylan Catholic) also earned first team recognition for SXU on the all-conference squad; while junior guard Stan Mayfield (Snellville, Ga./McKendree University/Shiloh), sophomore forwards Dominique Harvey (Hazel Crest, Ill./Homewood-Flossmoor) and Zach Opheim (Rockford, Ill./Boylan Catholic) and freshman point guard Roosevelt Green (Markham, Ill./Tinley Park) garnered spots on the honorable mention team.

Despite battling injuries this season, Scott averaged 10.4 points and 6.4 rebounds over 23 games this season, while Pikes posted averages of 8.9 points and 2.7 assists a game. Riggs had a breakout season for the Cougars recording 9.2 points and 4.9 boards per game. Scott makes the fourth appearance of his impressive four-year career on the All-CCAC Team earning two previous first team spots and a honorable mention selection in 2009. Saint Xavier (23-9 overall) now awaits its seed and pairing for the upcoming 2010 Buffalo Funds-NAIA National Championship Tournament at historic Municipal Auditorium in Kansas City, Mo. The national tournament kicks off on Wednesday, March 17, and the pairings for the event will be officially released by College Fanz Sports Network on Wednesday, March 10, starting at 3:30 p.m. on its website at
