CHICAGO - Behind a career-high 33 points by senior guard Angie Bush (Valparaiso, Ind./Morgan Township), the No. 2 ranked Saint Xavier University women's basketball team pulled away late in the second half to capture a 113-97 victory over Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) foe Olivet Nazarene University (Ill.) Tuesday evening at the Shannon Center in Chicago. In addition, senior guard Kathlyn McClain (Oak Forest, Ill./Converse College/Marian Catholic) also established a personal career-high scoring mark with 32 points in the game, while senior forward Erin Hannemann (Homer Glen, Ill./Providence Catholic) posted 22 points and game-best 17 rebounds. It was SXU's highest point total in a single game this season and the fifth time it has hit or surpassed the century mark.

Junior point guard Alex Barone (Joliet, Ill./Marian Catholic) finished with 14 points for the Cougars, while sophomore guard Marissa Young (Monroe, Wis./St. Joseph's College/Monroe) had a team-best 10 assists to go along with seven rebounds. Junior guard Shalonda Young (Chicago, Ill./Crane Tech) had a solid all-around game as well with nine points, eight rebounds, seven assists and three blocks. As a team, Saint Xavier shot 55 percent (48-for-88) from the floor and did an impressive job of distributing the basketball behind a season-high 35 assists. SXU also scored 52 of its 113 points in the paint breaking the Tiger press to get high percentage baskets in the lane. Sophomore guard Lexie Heinold led Olivet Nazarene with 18 points, while sophomore forward Jaimie Buckman posted 15 points and 15 rebounds.

Saint Xavier (24-1 overall/7-1 CCAC) takes a short break from its CCAC slate to take on No. 24 Lambuth University (Tenn.) on Wednesday, February 17, in a big NAIA Top 25 match-up. The game is scheduled for a 7 p.m. start at the Shannon Center.
