Palos Heights, Ill. - Behind 16 points apiece by seniors Erin Hannemann (Homer Glen, Ill./Providence Catholic) and Kathlyn McClain (Oak Forest, Ill./Converse College/Marian Catholic), the No. 3 ranked Saint Xavier University women's basketball team pulled away in the second half for a 72-52 road victory over Trinity Christian College (Ill.) in non-conference action Wednesday night in Palos Heights, Ill. The Cougars (21-1 overall) racked up 21 steals and helped to force 30 turnovers by the Trolls in the road victory.

Sophomore guard Marissa Young (Monroe, Wis./St. Joseph's College/Monroe) had a nice outing for SXU off the bench posting 11 points and eight rebounds. Hannemann also finished with eight rebounds toward the winning effort, while McClain tallied a game-best six steals. The game stayed tight until late in the first half when the Cougars used a 12-2 run to build a double-digit advantage. After leading 32-23 at the half, SXU continued to extend its lead early in the second half going ahead by as many as 26 points.

Saint Xavier (21-1 overall/4-1 CCAC) heads to the Gentile Center in Chicago Saturday night to take on Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) foe Robert Morris University. The game is slated for a 5 p.m. tip-off.
