Joliet, Ill. - Despite the wintry weather conditions, Saint Xavier University senior forward Erin Hannemann (Homer Glen, Ill./Providence Catholic) is heating up on the basketball court earning her third Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) Women's Basketball Player of the Week award in the past four weeks Tuesday for the week ending January 24. Hannemann averaged 23.5 points, 5.0 assists and 3.5 rebounds over two games last week in leading the No. 3 ranked Cougars to a 20-1 overall record with a pair of victories. It is the fourth time this season that she has been recognized for the weekly award with three of those recognitions coming in the month of January. In a 100-65 win over non-conference foe Trinity International University (Ill.) last Wednesday, Hannemann shot an impressive 9-for-10 from the floor and scored a team-best 23 points. She also had five rebounds and five assists in the victory. In a big 69-53 conference win over Indiana University-South Bend (IUSB) Saturday, Hannemann tallied 24 points and five assists. She made nine of her 11 shot attempts from the field. In the two games combined, Hannemann shot a stellar 86 percent (18-for-21). Hannemann is currently fourth in the league in scoring at 14.7 points-per-game and second with her 8.0 rebounds-per-game average. She also leads the league with her 60.0 percent field goal percentage (129-of-215).
Saint Xavier (20-1 overall/4-1 CCAC) heads to Palos Heights, Ill., on Wednesday, January 27, to take on Trinity Christian College (Ill.). The non-conference match-up tips off at 7 p.m.
