CHICAGO - Senior forward Erin Hannemann (Homer Glen, Ill./Providence Catholic) hit nine of her 10 shots from the field and finished with a game-high 23 points to lead No. 3 Saint Xavier University to a big 100-65 win over visiting Trinity International University (Ill.) in NAIA women's basketball action Wednesday night at the Shannon Center in Chicago. It was the fourth time this season that the Cougars have put up triple digits in the scoring column, while improving their season record to 19-1 overall. In addition, all 14 players on the SXU roster scored at least a basket after freshman guard Maureen Riley (Alma, Mich./Sacred Heart Academy) hit a short jumper with two minutes remaining in regulation to lift the team to the century mark.

Also scoring in double figures for Saint Xavier were junior guard Shalonda Young (Chicago, Ill./Crane Tech) with 11 points and senior guard Kathlyn McClain (Oak Forest, Ill./Converse College/Marian Catholic) with 10. Sophomore guard Michelle Tourtillott (Park Ridge, Ill./Maine South) and freshman point guard Romisha Taylor (Chicago, Ill./Von Stueben) provided big lifts off the bench with nine and eight points, respectively. The Cougars shot 57 percent (40-for-70) from the field and scored 40 of their 100 points off Lady Trojans' turnovers. TIU finished with 30 miscues in the ballgame and 16 of those came off SXU steals. The Cougars took control of the game early jumping out to an early 11-2 lead and led by as many as 42 points. Sophomore forward Vivianne Kindt led Trinity International University with 20 points on 8-for-14 shooting from the field. Saint Xavier (19-1 overall/3-1 CCAC) continues its home stand with a Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) game against Indiana University-South Bend (Ind.) on Saturday, January 23. Tip-off for the weekend game is set for 1 p.m. at the Shannon Center.
