Joliet, Ill. - Saint Xavier University senior forward Erin Hannemann (Homer Glen, Ill./Providence Catholic) claimed the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) Women's Basketball Player of the Week honor Tuesday for the week ending January 4 after wrapping up the final two days of the 2009 SXU Holiday Tournament with a pair of big victories for the No. 2 ranked Cougars. Hannemann was sensational in the last two games averaging 19.5 points, 11.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists, while also earning the event's Most Valuable Player (MVP) award. She shot 13-for-26 (50 percent) from the field over the stretch as Saint Xavier knocked off two ranked opponents by double-digit margins to claim their fourth consecutive Holiday Tournament title.

In the 78-62 win over No. 23 University of Saint Francis (Ind.), Hannemann finished with team-bests of 21 points and 11 rebounds. She also contributed two assists, a block and a steal. In the 77-50 victory over No. 14 Saint Ambrose University (Iowa) in the championship game of the tournament, Hannemann led the Cougars with her third straight double-double. She tallied 18 points, 12 rebounds, three assists and a block. Hannemann leads the conference with a 58-percent field goal percentage (83-for-143). She also ranks sixth with a 12.5 points-per-game average and second with her 7.5 rebounds-per-game average. It is the second time this season that Hannemann has earned the weekly recognition.

Saint Xavier (16-0 overall/2-0 CCAC) will take a short break from its conference slate to take on No. 25 Georgetown College (Ky.) on Saturday, January 9. The game is scheduled for a 2 p.m. (central) start in Georgetown, Ky.
