CHICAGO -- Meghan Kelly, a transfer from the University of Iowa in Iowa City, Iowa, has signed a letter of intent to continue her athletic and academic career at Saint Xavier University in Chicago as a member of the Cougar women's soccer program. Kelly, a native of Darien, Ill., enjoyed a successful prep career at Hinsdale South High School in Darien, where she was a defender for the Hornets.

Kelly is expected to also play at the defender position next season at Saint Xavier University. She plans to pursue a degree in business administration. Kelly played under Patrick Wolf during her prep career at Hinsdale South. She is the daughter of Michael and Laureen Kelly, who reside in Darien.

"Meghan has spent the last two years at the University of Iowa," said Saint Xavier University head women's soccer coach Derek Begich. "She will add some depth to our very young, but experienced, defense. Meghan is a hard working player, who sees the game very well and is one of the hardest tacklers we have. I am very excited to have Meghan in our program."
