Joliet, Ill. - It was an amazing week for the No. 7 ranked Saint Xavier University women's basketball team as they knocked off a pair of top-10 ranked NAIA teams, including No. 1 ranked and defending national champion Union University (Tenn.). Senior forward Erin Hannemann (Homer Glen, Ill./Providence Catholic) had a huge week averaging 16.7 points per game, including a double-double against both ranked opponents. She has been named the CCAC Women's Basketball Division I Player of the Week for the week ending November 29.

Saint Xavier started the week off with a big win over Judson University (Ill.), 78-40. Hannemann played just 25 minutes and contributed eight points, four rebounds, four assists and three steals. Up next for the Cougars was the highly anticipated match-up against the nation's best team. Saint Xavier won, 94-87, in Jackson, Tenn., and Hannemann was outstanding with 22 points, 10 rebounds, six assists and two blocks. She made 7-of-12 shots from the field.

The next game on the second day of the Lambuth University Classic, the Cougars played host Lambuth, who is ranked No. 9 in the nation. Saint Xavier was once again victorious with a 74-71 win. Hannemann played all 40 minutes and had another stellar outing this time with 20 points, 15 rebounds, two assists and two steals. To go along with her 16.7 points per game average over the three-game stretch, Hannemann averaged 9.7 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 1.7 steals per game. She shot 54 percent from the field (18-for-33).

Saint Xavier (8-0 overall) heads to Bourbonnais, Ill., this weekend to take part in the two-day Holiday Inn Express CCAC Challenge hosted by Olivet Nazarene University (Ill.). The Cougars take on No. 20 ranked Bethel College (Tenn.) on Friday, December 4, at 6 p.m. to kick off the event.
