Findlay, Ohio - Saint Xavier University senior wide receiver Bill McKeon (Joliet, Ill./Joliet Catholic) and senior linebacker Mike Lally (Oak Lawn, Ill./St. Rita) were named the Mid-States Football Association (MSFA) Mideast League Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, respectively, when the league released the honors early Monday. The pair had impressive outings in SXU's regular-season finale victory, 36-24, over No. 8 ranked University of Saint Francis (Ind.) in Fort Wayne, Ind. With the win, the Cougars completed their first perfect season (11-0), won the MSFA Mideast League title for the first time in the program's history and ended USF's 56-game home win streak dating back to November 2001.

McKeon was an offensive juggernaut for Saint Xavier Saturday posting game-bests of 13 catches and 187 receiving yards and a touchdown, while also rushing six times for 14 yards and a score. He also completed a 20-yard pass in the game. McKeon's 40-yard touchdown reception in the third quarter put SXU ahead for good, 29-24. Lally posted a game-best 15 tackles (four solos), including a pair of tackles-for-losses totaling five yards. The Cougar defense held USF scoreless in the fourth quarter to preserve the victory.

Saint Xavier (11-0 overall/7-0 MSFA) has a bye for the final week of the 2009 NAIA Football regular season and awaits its seed and pairing for the 2009 NAIA Championship Series. The seeds and pairings will be officially announced by the NAIA on Sunday, November 15, at 1:30 p.m.
