CHICAGO - Sophomore middle blocker Kim Scudder (Elmhurst, Ill./York Community) finished with a match-best 12 kills to help lead the Saint Xavier University volleyball team to a Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) victory over Robert Morris University (Ill.) Tuesday evening at the Shannon Center in Chicago. The Cougars (14-17 overall/3-3 CCAC) won the match in three straight sets by scores of 25-14, 25-23 and 25-17. In addition, freshman outside hitter Kayla Mullaney (Elmhurst, Ill./York Community) also posted double figures in kills finishing with 10 on the night for SXU.

The Cougars had plenty of standout individual performers in Tuesday's match with sophomore libero Erin Sebo (Downers Grove, Ill./St. Scholastica/Downers Grove North) extremely tough defensively with 17 digs. Junior outside hitter Danielle Malloy (Tinley Park, Ill./Tinley Park) tallied seven kills and two total blocks (one solo) as well for Saint Xavier, while sophomore setter Ashley August (LaGrange Park, Ill./Lyons Township) recorded 32 assists. Freshman outside hitter Kelly Knudsen (Oak Lawn, Ill./Oak Lawn Community) also posted three service aces toward the winning effort.

Saint Xavier (14-17 overall/3-3 CCAC) heads to Deerfield, Ill., on Thursday, October 22, to take on CCAC foe Trinity International University (Ill.). The match is scheduled for a 7 p.m. start.
