Joliet, Ill. - Saint Xavier University freshman forward Elysha Peele (Tinley Park, Ill./Andrew) was named the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week Tuesday afternoon for the week ending October 11. The Cougars played just one game on the week, but it was a big one as SXU handed Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT) its first conference loss of the season, 5-0, last Wednesday at Bruce R. Deaton Memorial Field in Chicago.
Peele had two goals and an assist in the 5-0 victory over Illinois Tech Wednesday. She scored her first goal of the game in the 20th minute to help give her team a 3-0 advantage at halftime. In the 83rd minute, she notched her second goal of the game to give the Cougars a 4-0 lead and then recorded her assist on the game's fifth goal just a minute later. Saint Xavier (7-5-1 overall/3-1-1 CCAC) takes on CCAC foe Calumet College of St. Joseph (Ind.) this afternoon in Whiting, Ind. The game was scheduled for a 3 p.m. start.
