Joliet, Ill. - Freshman outside hitter Kayla Mullaney (Elmhurst, Ill./York Community) finished with eight kills, but the Saint Xavier University volleyball team dropped a tough road match in three sets (16-25, 9-25, 16-25) to Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) rival University of St. Francis (Ill.) Tuesday night at the USF Recreation Center in Joliet, Ill. The Cougars (11-11 overall/2-2 CCAC) have had a tough stretch as of late dropping six of their last eight matches after starting the season with a 9-5 mark.

Sophomore setter Jaclyn Major (Lockport, Ill./Lockport Township) finished Tuesday's match with 19 assists, while sophomore libero Erin Sebo (Downers Grove, Ill./St. Scholastica/Downers Grove North) tallied a team-best 10 digs. SXU never really got into a rhythm offensively finishing the match with 25 kills and 23 attack errors.

Saint Xavier (11-11 overall/2-2 CCAC) heads to Marion, Ind., this weekend to take part in the Indiana Wesleyan University Volleyball Tournament. SXU plays its first of four matches on the weekend on Friday, October 9, with a 3 p.m. match against Taylor University (Ind.).
