Joliet, Ill. - With a combined three goals and an assist over two games last week, Saint Xavier University sophomore midfielder Nancy Schueth (Lincoln, Neb./Saint Pius X) was named the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week Tuesday for the week ending October 4. The Cougars went 1-0-1 on the week defeating conference foe Holy Cross College (Ind.), 12-0, in their first game and then tying league rival University of St. Francis (Ill.), 1-1, after 90 minutes of regulation and two 10-minute overtime periods.
Schueth had two goals and an assist in the 12-0 victory over Holy Cross on Tuesday, September 29. In the game against St. Francis, she scored the lone goal for the Cougars just four minutes into regulation. SXU nearly pulled off the 1-0 victory off Schueth's goal, but the Fighting Saints scored with three seconds remaining in regulation to force the extra periods. Saint Xavier (6-5-1 overall/2-1-1 CCAC) continues its season on Wednesday, October 7, with another home CCAC game against Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT). The game is scheduled for a 5 p.m. start at Bruce R. Deaton Memorial Field in Chicago.Click here for the official CCAC Players of the Week release
