CHICAGO -- Danielle Scartozzi, a junior midfielder from Calumet College in Whiting, Ind., has transferred to Saint Xavier University in Chicago to continue her athletic and academic career as a member of the Cougar women's soccer program. Scartozzi, a native of Crete, Ill., played prep soccer at Crete-Monee High School before attending Calumet College.
Scartozzi is expected to continue play at the midfielder position this fall at Saint Xavier University. She plans to pursue a degree in elementary education and is the daughter of Tom and Dorrie Scartozzi, who reside in Crete.
"Danielle is a very exciting addition to our program," said Saint Xavier University head women's soccer coach Derek Begich. "Having a transfer from Calumet College will add great depth to our already strong midfield this fall. As a freshman at Calumet, Danielle was a CCAC (Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference) All-Conference selection. She has a great first touch and sees the field extremely well."
