Joliet, Ill. - For the eighth time this season, Saint Xavier University junior forward Erin Hannemann (Homer Glen, Ill./Providence Catholic) earned Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) Women's Basketball Division I Player of the Week honors after leading SXU in its big conference victory Saturday (Feb. 14) over second-place University of St. Francis (Ill.) for the week ending February 15. Hannemann recorded her 10th double-double performance of the season as the Cougars hung on to claim a 67-64 win over the visiting Saints, which allowed No. 6 ranked Saint Xavier to move two full games in front of USF in the CCAC standings. Hannemann totaled 24 points and 12 rebounds and shot .643 from the field (9-of-14) in the victory.
"What Erin has been able to accomplish this season is truly remarkable," said SXU women's basketball coach Bob Hallberg. "She has claimed conference player of the week honors eight of the 14 times it has been awarded this season. To be that consistently successful really shows what a special type of player she is and how much she means to our team."
Saint Xavier (21-3 overall/7-0 CCAC) wraps up its regular-season home slate on Saturday, February 21, with a conference match-up against Indiana University-South Bend (IUSB). The game is scheduled for a 1 p.m. start.
