Findlay, Ohio - Saint Xavier University junior wide receiver Andy Ricca (LaPorte, Ind./Michigan City) was named the Mid-States Football Association (MSFA) Midwest League Offensive Player of the Week when the conference office released the honor Monday. Ricca scored SXU's first two touchdowns in the first quarter of Saturday's 35-20 homecoming win over No. 11 Geneva College (Pa.) at SXU Stadium in Chicago.

Ricca recorded seven receptions for 209 yards and two touchdowns in Saturday's victory. On Saint Xavier's first play from scrimmage, he took his first catch 75 yards for a touchdown. On just the third play of the Cougars' next drive, Ricca found the endzone again on a 67-yard reception with 9:15 remaining in the first quarter to put SXU ahead, 14-0.

SXU (3-1 overall) heads to Oskaloosa, Iowa, on Saturday, October 1, to open its MSFA Midwest League slate against William Penn University (Iowa). Game time is scheduled for a 1 p.m. start.
