CHICAGO - Hat tricks (three goals) by sophomore midfielder Sarah Scigalski (Alsip, Ill./Mother McAuley) and sophomore forward Ariana Robles (West Chicago, Ill./College of DuPage) propelled No. 25 ranked Saint Xavier University to a 9-0 win over Cardinal Stritch University (Wis.) in Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) women's soccer action Wednesday at Bruce R. Deaton Memorial Field in Chicago. SXU improves to 9-3 overall and 2-2 in conference play with the victory.
Saint Xavier led 4-0 at halftime and tacked five more goals on in the second half to complete the game's scoring. In addition to the six goals by Scigalski and Robles, the Cougars received a goal apiece Wednesday from junior midfielder Aleks Sudar (Omaha, Neb./Omaha Bryan), senior forward Angie Holmes (Shorewood, Ill./Providence Catholic), and junior midfielder Alana LoPresti (Darien, Ill./Hinsdale South). Freshman Danielle Wagner (Worth, Ill./Stagg) recorded her second shutout of the season and finished with three saves.
Saint Xavier (9-3 overall, 2-2 CCAC) continues its conference slate on Friday, September 29, facing No. 20 Trinity Christian College (Ill.) at Bruce R. Deaton Memorial Field. Start time for Friday's game is 4 p.m.
