CHICAGO - The stakes do not get much higher for the No. 18 ranked Saint Xavier University football team heading into its regular season finale on Saturday, November 15. The Cougars host No. 3 ranked University of Saint Francis (Ind.) for a 1 p.m. game at Bruce R. Deaton Memorial Stadium in Chicago that will help determine the Mid-States Football Association (MSFA) Mideast League champion. More importantly, however, a SXU win Saturday will most likely give them a berth in the 2008 NAIA Championship Series for the fourth straight season. With 22 seniors on the active roster and the last home game of the season dedicated as "Senior Day," this talented group of upperclassmen will have plenty to play for in an effort to extend their season at least a bit further.

"We have had some big games over the years, but it doesn't get any bigger than this, because we have to win … period," said Saint Xavier University football coach Mike Feminis. "Our playoffs officially start this Saturday as far as we're concerned and it's nice to finally play them (Saint Francis) at home. Saint Francis is a tremendous football team and we're going to have to play a near perfect game to beat them. We should have a great crowd for ‘Senior Day' and I can't wait. It's going to be a heck of a game."

The Saint Xavier University Athletics Department will run the "Red See" promotion for Saturday's big game. The first 1,000 SXU fans entering the stadium will receive a complimentary "Cougar Red" rally towel to use in the stands to help cheer Saint Xavier on to victory.
