CHICAGO - Saint Xavier University seniors Laura Gullickson (Bourbonnais, Ill./Bishop McNamara) and Chelsey Guay (Escanaba, Mich./Escanaba) each finished with 10 kills, but the Cougars could not pick up the victory falling to NCAA Division II University of Wisconsin-Parkside (Wis.) in four games Wednesday night at the Shannon Center in Chicago. SXU dropped the first two games of the match, 25-27 and 24-26, but came back in game three, 25-23. However, the fourth game went to the Rangers, 25-17, for the match victory.

Freshman setter Jaclyn Major (Lockport, Ill./Lockport Township) finished the match with 21 set assists for Saint Xavier, while Gullickson and senior libero Jenna Guide (Orland Park, Ill./Sandburg) recorded 10 digs apiece. Senior outside hitter Mallory Winkler (Chicago, Ill./Queen of Peace) had a match-high five service aces for the Cougars. Guay also finished with two solo blocks for SXU in the match.

Saint Xavier (12-30 overall) continues its break from its Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) slate by taking on Saint Ambrose University (Iowa) on Thursday, October 30. The match is scheduled for a 7 p.m. start at Palos Courts in Palos Heights, Ill.
