CHICAGO - Senior midfielder Jen Belmonte (Darien, Ill./Hinsdale South) and junior forward Angie Holmes (Shorewood, Ill./Providence Catholic) each scored a goal to lead the No. 18 ranked Saint Xavier University women's soccer team to a 2-0 victory over visiting Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) rival Olivet Nazarene University (Ill.) Wednesday at SXU Stadium in Chicago. The Cougars pick up their first CCAC win (1-0) of the season, while improving their overall record to 4-1-1.

Sophomore forward Lissa Coby (Lake Villa, Ill./Grant Community) provided the assists on both of SXU's goals in the game. Holmes scored Saint Xavier's first goal off a corner kick from Coby in the second minute of play. The Cougars struck again just over five minutes later when Coby found Belmonte open on a pass to score SXU's second and final goal of the game with 38:13 remaining in the first half.

Senior goalkeeper Melissa Painter (Elk Grove, Calif./William Penn University) earned her third shutout of the season finishing the game with seven saves. Saint Xavier outshot Olivet, 29-8, in Wednesday's win.

SXU (4-1-1 overall/1-0 CCAC) heads to Deerfield, Ill., on Saturday, September 17, to face Trinity International University (Ill.) for its second straight CCAC match-up. Game time is scheduled for 2 p.m.
