Milwaukee, Wis. - Behind nine kills and 12 digs from senior outside hitter Mallory Winkler (Chicago, Ill./Queen of Peace), the Saint Xavier University volleyball team continued its perfect start (6-0) in the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) with a match win over Cardinal Stritch University (Wis.) Tuesday night at Allen-Bradley Gymnasium in Milwaukee, Wis. The Cougars (7-17 overall/6-0 CCAC) dropped the first game of the match, 15-25, but rebounded to take the next three games, 25-20, 25-20, and 25-22.

Freshman setter Ashley August (LaGrange Park, Ill./Lyons Township) finished Tuesday's match with 26 set assists, while senior libero Jenna Guide (Orland Park, Ill./Sandburg) tallied 15 digs toward the winning effort. Senior right side Laura Gullickson (Bourbonnais, Ill./Bishop McNamara) also had a solid match finishing with nine kills, eight digs, and two service aces.

Saint Xavier (7-17 overall/6-0 CCAC) heads to Fort Wayne, Ind., this Friday to play a pair of matches against University of Saint Francis (Ind.) and Grace College (Ind.). The first match against USF will start at 12 p.m. eastern, while the second match against Grace begins at 7 p.m. eastern.
